Ngiau Suan Lai

The principal of The Children’s Place, Ms Ngiau Suan Lai has a Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood Education) from the University of South Australia and has over 20 years of professional experience in the preschool industry.

Her experiences as a teacher and principal have equipped her with invaluable knowledge and skills in the various aspects of preschool education, of which the needs of the children and programme quality are of foremost importance to her. She views teaching as a profession of great responsibility and far reaching influence as it shapes thinking and behaviour, especially in the early years.

The Children’s Place holds a special place in her heart as she was formerly a teacher there. The school’s emphasis on child centred learning resonates with her belief that true learning stems from children’s interests and experiential learning. She believes that involvement in concrete experiences, reflective observation, abstract conceptualization, active experimentation build essential lifelong learning skills in children.
